How to Create the Perfect Work/Life Balance like Jennifer Lopez

Honoring the fact that Jennifer Lopez will be doing this year’s Superbowl Half Time show along with Shakira, I wanted to hone in on the life of Jennifer Lopez, the mom! We see this 49-year-old phenomenal woman shutting it down for us Latinas and there is just no way one cannot find inspiration in that.

We can definitely see that Jennifer Lopez works hard. She has her fingers dipped in almost every aspect of the entertainent industry yet she is still present for her children. As a mother that is aspiring to have the perfect work/life balance, you have to wonder how she does it all.

Meditation

I dug up some reaseach to find that JLo meditates! She dedicates 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes at night to meditation. In an article written by Mandi Kerr, we learn that Jennifer started her meditation in 2015 when her schedule was extremely full. She was acting in Shades of Blue, judging on American Idol and, of course, singing.

Set Routine

People Magazine released an article that says dinner time for Emmy and Max is around 6:30 to 7:00 and they’re bedtime is by 8:30. Jennifer makes a point to be present during those important times. She says, she read somewhere that children who eat dinner with their families are less likely to do drugs, and that was all she needed to hear to make this a must!

Bringing the Kids Along

Emmy and Max are quite familiar with a Behind the Scenes look at JLo’s music videos, movies and performances. She brings the kids along as much as she possibly can in order to see them and for them to see their mom. In an interview, JLo stated that because of traveling, the kids go back and forth from home schooling, to regular schooling. She travels with her kids as needed and the children have gotten used to the changes and flexibility.

It is imperative for Jennifer to bring her children along with her as we see Emmy and her signing together in LA in July 2019.

“Its a whole rounded regimen that deal with your mind, your soul, your spirit and your body, its working out, its dancing, its meditating, and then at the end of the day, just being happy” - Jennifer Lopez.
