Gingham Skirt

Hey Fashionistas

With this look I decided to get outside my comfort zone and incorporate this gingham pattern. It was hard, but I pulled it off. I am always nervous about looking like a picnic blanket. I was all over the fashion blogs and magazine to get ideas for this look.

Since my favorite color is pink, I paired this beautiful ruffled-hem skirt with an off-the-shoulder top, black sandals and a straw crossbody bag. I had to dress it up. This fabric just screams pretty and preppy. Don’t ya think?

It’s definitely taking over fashion as we see it on midi dresses, pants and as seen here, skirts. Such a timeless pattern, we have seen gingham around since the 50’s. According to this article I found in the HuffPost, the phrase “gingham” came from the 17th century, to describe a striped fabric imported from India. We see Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz in her blue gingham dress being stylish. Yes Dorothy!

Gingham is having a moment this summer so make sure you get your gingham piece just in time for the new season. Shein has so many styles. They update their site, everyday! Use my coupon code for money off your purchase!
