Make Working From Home a Success

7 Tips on how!

Despite having my girls home with me, I have much rather preferred working from home. I have always hoped for the opportunity to work from home. Thanks to COVID-19, I was finally granted that chance. I find myself much more productive and able to better focus on my work when I am home as opposed to the constant distraction to the office. I am very used to having a corporate structure and environment to look forward to each day, for some adult time away from my kids, but I was able to adjust smoothly to the transition. Here are a few thing I have learned so far.

Always make the bed

I may not make it once I get out of bed in the morning since my husband is still asleep when I get up, but the moment I get a small break, I am sure to run into my room and make the bed. It makes me feel organized and just a little more put together.

Get Dressed

Yes! Get out of PJs and actually get dressed for the day. It will improve your mood almost instantly.

Establish a Routine

I am definitely my mother’s child so routines are so important to me no matter what season of my life I am in. It gives me structure and a sense of knowing what to do. I feel like if I don’t write things down or make a plan for the day I will not accomplish anything.

Being Home with Kids

Having the girls home with me as I work from home has been a challenge because although my mom is home to help me, if they see me, they normally want mommy. Its distracting having them around when I am trying to answer phones or perform certain duties assigned by my boss. I usually have to hide in another room and take shifts with Ariel

Create A Working Space

I use to sit at the kitchen table every morning for work. However, I quickly learned that that set up was not going to work. Theres way too much traffic coming in and out of the kitchen therefore causing distraction for me. Create a space away from everything and make it your own.

Take A Walk

I read somewhere that taking a walk is a good way to vamp your creativity. Its been proven that walks can spice up some good ideas. Ever since I learned this fact, I have tried to do just that. I’ve been taking the time to go out for a little walk in efforts to get my mind right.

Exercise

Although you are in the house, be sure to squeeze in some exercise. Home workouts are just as effective as gym workouts. Get your body moving. Yoga has been my absolute go to since working from home. I was starting to find myself having lower back pains and Yoga has definitely helped with the pain.
